When the owners came to us they were suffering sticker shock from the price of a new house they were planning on their seven-acre waterfront parcel on Narragansett Bay.
Rather than building new, we proposed adding to the 50's cottage. The previous owners had oddly built only half of the original floor plan (perhaps an earlier case of sticker shock). The result was an awkwardly shaped little cottage calling out to be finished.
We completed the unfinished gesture of the shed roof by extending the existing roof angle and structural post and beam system. On the wooded side, we added a more solid, completely new stick framed 2-story wing containing bedrooms and bathrooms.
