Placed at the uphill edge of a sloping field, the Hibbitt house overlooks an inlet to the west and Narragansett Bay to the south. Stone walled terraces and the composition of buildings create a series of vistas and outdoor spaces that progress from the intimate courtyard to the more expansive, sunlit areas facing the water.
In the house, New England stone, traditional trim and shingles, and familiar forms are assembled into a decidedly new house that engages the land and captures the site’s potential.
