This project involved the renovation of a 1950’s house that was an anomaly in terms of both style and condition: a small run-down house in a land of large, ornate turn of the century houses.
In spite of its bad condition and unremarkable design, the house was beautifully sited. We decided to renovate by expanding upon the original style and to realize the houses full potential.
From the outside, the long, low, forms are a counterpoint to the jagged ledge outcroppings and steep drops. Once inside, the house feels larger than it is with every room spilling out to the surrounding views and terrain.
