This house addresses a neighborhood of small cottages with a long, low eave and an arrangement of house forms (gable, shed, and chimney) that is almost toy-like in its simplicity. The entry is expressed with a contrasting glazed form tucked below the eave and protruding through the shed roof above. The house rises as it sets back from the street, and, with it's "L" shape, creates a private outdoor area facing south in the rear. Inside, mouldings and other embellishments have been reduced so the focus is on different natural materials (wood, stone, and metal) and on the play of light on different wall planes.
